ShadeShift is a 3ds Max material editor node that allows you to pick one or more lights in your scene. Wherever they hit your object directly, ShadeShift turns that into a mask, so whatever you plug in follows the light instead of covering the whole surface.

RenderRam is a 3D visualization studio and software developer based in Zagreb, Croatia, founded in 2014 by Vjekoslav Kiraly.
The studio produces hyper-realistic product and interior visuals, with the emphasis on precision, materials and lighting. Work is built in 3ds Max and rendered with FStorm and Corona, with production experience across V-Ray, Octane and Scanline, supported by Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, Marvelous Designer and ComfyUI. Vjekoslav has worked professionally in 3D since 2004.
Alongside client work, RenderRam develops software for the industry. ShadeShift turns the light that hits an object into a mask inside a Corona material. Dropper places a whole selection with real physics inside 3ds Max. Both came out of production needs rather than a product plan, and both are used daily on the studio's own work.
RenderRam also publishes practical, production level training. The YouTube channel has run since 2021 and was extended in 2025 with Patreon. Vjekoslav spoke at the End User Event conference in 2025 and contributes to industry interviews.
